Why a digital presence is more important than ever post-lockdown

As we head out of lockdown and Covid restrictions ease, and with many businesses feeling the strain of over a year now of (often) disruption, business owners may well be thinking of how they can save money and cut costs in different areas. For some, this may mean the misguided thought that they can save on marketing and that this area is a somewhat ‘non-essential’ spend, and that as a business owner they can post a few times on Facebook and all will be right with the world once more.

However, as someone who works with a variety of businesses and provides bespoke digital packages, I can see that it’s becoming more and more obvious that in a post-covid world, the key for business survival really is tailored digital marketing. This digital tailoring should include a clear focus on bespoke business branding and really thinking of who a business’ target audience is, combined with deciding on key objectives that they would like to achieve over the coming months. Having a clear digital strategy will be essential for businesses to not only survive, but to thrive and adapt (if necessary) to a new world.

As well as providing social media marketing strategies and creative ideas for my clients, I also spend a decent chunk of time behind the scenes working on my clients’ website SEO. By building good SEO over time, ‘good quality’ visitors find and are attracted to a business’ website, encouraging them to connect and invest in that business or brand by maybe signing up to a newsletter, downloading a brochure, or filling out a contact form to enquire about a service offering. This is great for businesses in terms of saving time and money with prospects coming to a business, rather than implementing an outbound scattergun approach when it comes to marketing.

Individuals and businesses who are reluctant to invest in their digital marketing and/or establish a social media presence may wonder if they are too late to get going.

Well, you are never too late!

BUT now is the time for you or your company as we head out of the pandemic to generate your brand presence on social media, work on SEO, and to learn how to make it work for you.

As a business or brand you can easily carve out space for yourself in the social media sphere, and there is no reasonable argument that a marketing strategy should not include social media.

The best reason you should begin working on your digital strategy and building your social media presence is that it will continue to evolve over the coming months and years, and be tweaked as necessary.

The sooner you start, the better and stronger it will be in the future!
